Elder Ethan Drew Thompson

A very special day in our lives...taking Ethan to the MTC

to spend the next two years sharing the gospel

with the people of Thailand.

Giving up the cell phone was a little painful,

but I thought he handled it well.

We have received our first email from him

and we are happy to report he is doing fabulous!

$1.56 postage

Mom: "Ethan I have something for you"
Ethan: "One questions Mom, How much was the postage?"
Mom: "$1.56"
Ethan: "YES!!!"
I had no clue why he was asking me how much the postage was.
Come to find out it determines what the location is on the inside of the envelope.

We assembled for the opening of the call
Brad and Sarah and kids
Grandparents and his Mom on the phone
and we were all ready to hear where Ethan would be
serving the next two years of his life.

The spirit was so strong as Ethan read the words in this
letter from our dear prophet, President Monson.

The kids had a blast dodging the water fountains, but
Tanner got soaked. I guess when it is your last child
you don't worry about the fact that it is only 30 degrees and your
child is playing in the water!

Saturday Morning TV ...

When Drew and I woke up this morning, this is what we found...

Tanner and Addi had made themselves quite comfy

in the kitchen watching TV on the computer.

This is a great stage of life when your children are old enough to take care of themselves when they wake up early. I thought this time of life would never come, but it did ~ oh so fast! Sometimes I get a little sad to think my babies aren't babies anymore. But there is JOY in every age.
